TSM INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL ALLIANCE
Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about appointments, interpretation, online prescriptions, insurance and emergencies.
Can I enquire without a referral letter?
You may enquire first. General internal medicine and common conditions may be coordinated without a referral. Oncology second opinions or certain specialised tests may require a referral and complete records; the institution's rules apply.
Do I need to find my own medical interpreter?
No. We can arrange medical interpretation according to the appointment. Please specify your language needs when enquiring.
How far ahead should I contact you?
At least one week ahead is recommended. Contact us earlier for oncology, specialised tests, aesthetic assessments, interpretation or travel arrangements.
How do I cancel or change an appointment?
Contact your coordinator promptly. Deadlines and fees vary by institution and service and will be explained when confirming the appointment.
Can I receive a diagnosis or prescription online?
Online care is mainly for follow-up and health management where the diagnosis is established, the condition is stable, records are sufficient and in-person care is possible when needed. A licensed Japanese doctor decides suitability, prescribing and in-person requirements. Website messages and coordinator conversations are not diagnoses.
Can you guarantee an appointment or treatment outcome?
No. Institutions and doctors decide acceptance, tests and treatment based on records and assessment. Outcomes vary, and the website promises no treatment results.
Can I use Chinese or international insurance?
We can help prepare and communicate required information. Direct billing, coverage and reimbursement rates depend on the insurer and policy.
How much will it cost?
Online estimates draw on previous experience. Your coordinator explains expected fees after the arrangements are confirmed; changes following assessment may alter costs.
How do I reach the hospital?
Your coordinator provides the location and directions after the appointment is confirmed.
Can you arrange private transport and hotels?
Private transfers, hotel bookings and travel coordination can be arranged. Confirm vehicles, routes and accommodation with your coordinator.
What should I do in an emergency or serious condition?
If a condition may be life-threatening or requires immediate care, contact local emergency services or a nearby medical institution. Do not wait for a website or coordinator reply.
Can website information replace a doctor's advice?
No. The website provides general information and care coordination, not diagnoses, prescriptions or individual treatment advice.
